Spring has Sprung!

Colors are everywhere and the plants are doing well. Hopefully a little extra watering will get those seeds a-germinatin' and the roots a springing forth!

There are a couple other plants, but I can not recall there name right now...

New Friends

My neighbor thinned out some of her beds the other day! When I got home, some new friends were waiting for me. Some mini, purple Japanese iris, bleeding heart, black eyed susans and lambs' ears!

It's easy to please me!

Learned a new word, from a new friend

PETRICHOR/ˈpɛtrɪkə/
The smell of rain on dry ground.
More specifically, petrichor is the pleasant smell that often accompanies the first rain after a long period of warm, dry weather in certain regions. It was named by two Australian researchers, who discovered that the smell is an oily essence emitted from rocks or soils. The oil is a complicated mixture of at least fifty different compounds, rather like a perfume.

the babies

my seedlings aren't doing so hot. I'm not sure if i'm overwatering them or started them too early... this may be my last year at the attempt, or I need to get real serious about it next year and rig up a better grow light/headed bed thingy...
